Learn from the horse master, Julie Goodnight. She shows how to deal with a horse and keep it under control by being assertive.
Using a rope is the better way to move a horse around because a chain always puts pressure on a horse's nose. Only an adequate amount of pressure is exerted onto the horse's nose area when using a rope harness instead of a chain.
Keeping the rope slack is going to make the horse keeps its lean toward the trainer, but anytime it turns it's head away one should jerk the rope slightly in order to get the horse's mind back on track.
