Staph Infection in Horses - Does your horse have cellulitis?

Staph infection or MRSA in horses is usually prevented by hand washing. This infection can be transferred to horses from humans and vice versa, and the most common method is hand transfer.

When you are handling your horses, or anyone else's, remember the same hygiene applies when you are coming in contact. Germs can be spread that you pick up from other humans to your horses.

Alex and Tough Guy make the big move

Pennsylvania, Quarter horse: Tuffy gets to stretch his legs on a hot day
Well, here it is July 3 and we are really excited for the weekend. We bought Count On Tough Guy two years ago and have been training him in barrel racing. This weekend we are journeying away from home base at Running Horse Ranch in Franklin, PA where we currently board our two quarter horses.

Tough Guy, aka "Tuffy" is five years old now and his rider, Alex is a fairly new rider as she only started when we bought the two horses.
