There is a small percentage of human beings who thrive on cruelty toward animals and other human beings, whatever the order. The Humane Society of the United States is actively engaged in investigating and bringing to justice the person or persons guilty of poisoning 23 horses at Rockridge Farm in Santa Fe. No matter what the psychological basis for such an action, just the fact of the damage to property and the pain inflicted to the animals justify the greatest perseverance in hunting down the guilty party.
