A 7-year-old horse in Jackson County, Mo., was diagnosed to have equine piroplasmosis. This was according to a report by John Clifford, DVM, deputy administrator at the USDA Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service. The report has already been sent to the World Organization for Animal Health.
