South Florida Horses, Stolen and Brutally Killed

There had been 20 stolen and brutally killed horses in Florida since January. Experts thinks that the crime were after the equines' meat that is illegal in South Florida and are being sold in the black market.

Some of the brutally killed horses are found mutilated and some are slaughtered while tied on a tree.

Officials are encouraging people in the crime area to report any suspicious activity in the local police agency or SPCA.

A rally in Homestead Rodeo Arena was held on August 1st to raise awareness and raise money. There will be a reward of $1,000 for any tips leading to arrest of the crimes, just call 305-471-TIPS or contact Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers.

Regarding this matter a Citizens Crime Watch meeting will be held on August 19, 2009, at 7:00 P.M.

Just wondering, has anybody checked out the lobster "fisherman", many years ago I heard in the Florida Keys that the Cubans used untanned horsehide to bait their traps.
