Sunset Valley Farm Interview

By Interviewer at 04/23/09 01:14

Name of your website?

Sunset Valley Farm

Your name?

maria Kenny

Your Location (city, etc)

West Chester, PA

Please give us a short summary of your website?

Website includes information about horse boarding on our farm and what services we provide to horse lovers. Featured are horse riding lessons, riding camps and our new boarders.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

A website is needed to increase business.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

This is the same website I launched back in Nov. 2008 when I bought the farm. It is updated as necessary.

How did you decide on a name for your website?

The name for the website is the name of the farm when I bought it.

What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?

Our website is comprehensive and answers virtually all questions that a new potential boarder may have regarding our services.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

Goal is to keep it as a generating source of good leads.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

It's a slow process but it's worth it.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

I would also include direct mail.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

Yes.

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

Increase in feed, hay, complaints from boarders, etc.

What has been your biggest challenge?

Keeping the costs down to churn a nice profit.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

Finding a site that comes up first on google and then it directs it to my website.

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

I get more leads than I expected.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

I've been running this site since Nov. 1998

What is your website address?

Sunset Valley Farm
