Name of your website?

Leyland Ridge Equine Inn - Leyland Ridge Farm

Your name?

Mikki Barker

Your Location (city, etc)

Abingdon

Please give us a short summary of your website?

We are renovating an old 1920's farm house and farm which will open as an equine inn when finished. We will offer stalls, open pasture and exercise space for horses. A one bedroom suite as well as full RV hookups for self contained livestock haulers. We project completion of the renovations summer of 2010.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

I'm a graphics designer and e-commerce business consultant. I wanted to put into practice all the tips and tricks that I recommend to my clients regarding SEO as well as have our site indexed and search engine accessible by the time we're ready to open for business.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

I launched my first website in 1998. It was a site dedicated to my Siamese cats.

How did you decide on a name for your website?

The name of the site is the name of our farm

What makes it different from other, similar offerings?

It's mine!

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

We want our site indexed and search engine accessible by the time we're ready to open for business in a couple years.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

Time will tell

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

Nothing - money does not make a good website. Creativity and dedication will net positive results

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

Sure

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

None so far

What has been your biggest challenge?

host accessability

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

that still remains to be determined

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

No way really

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

four months - as long as we run the inn

What is your website address?

Leyland Ridge Equine Inn - Leyland Ridge Farm
