Canada's fifth-largest rodeo, the Cloverdale Rodeo, has decided to dismiss steer wrestling, tie-down roping, team-roping and wild cow milking from its succeeding events. They announced it one day after animal rights militants stormed the arena and had to be removed.Animal rights movement has been increasingly attacking the Cloverdale Rodeo. Nonetheless, the decease of a calf at this year's exhibition was a catalyst for the move to axe the 'vicious' events (or so says the anti-rodeo movement). And so, the Canada Professional Rodeo Association (CPRA) sanctions the Cloverdale Rodeo. Anyway, Anyway, the only rodeos that reckon towards the APRC standings are CPRA Rodeo’s that occur in Alberta, Canada. Every single buck made in the CFR standings counts as a point in the APRC. ($1 = 1 point). Each event is capped as follows: Boys Steer Riding: $700 Novice Saddle Bronc: $1,000 Novice Bareback: $1,000 6 Major Events: $7,000 Team Roping: $7,000 In the Alberta Circuit if a contender wins over $7,000 at one rodeo only 7,000 points will be given toward the Alberta Circuit standings.
